AMD Gallium3D Performance Is Much Better Than Two Years Ago

For the not very demanding OpenArena ioquake3 games, the Mesa 9.2 release yields the biggest improvements yet for the Radeon HD 4890 graphics card of the Mesa releases going back the past two years. The Radeon HD 4890 performance is up by 32% for OpenArena 0.8.5 and the OpenArena 0.8.8 performance is up by 2.67x, but that's because of a large regression in OA 0.8.8 during the Mesa 9.0 development cycle.

The peak frame latency is also sub-30 ms in Mesa 9.2 after peaking to 99 ms in Mesa 9.1 on this Radeon HD 4890 graphics card.
