AMD Radeon, NVIDIA GeForce Linux Comparison For July 2013
Unigine Heaven is one of the most taxing OpenGL benchmarks on Linux, with most of the tested graphics cards scoring around 20 FPS or lower with their proprietary drivers. The best performer -- and winning by a wide margin -- was the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680 when this Unigine tech demo was running at 1920 x 1080.
Unigine Tropics is much less demanding than Unigine Heaven but continues to serve as an interesting OpenGL Linux benchmark, at least since the Mesa/Gallium3D drivers can now generally run this tech demo.
Valley is Unigine's latest tech demo for stressing graphics cards. The results are in line with expectations for the state of the current Linux drivers and Ubuntu 13.10. At least XMir hasn't yet been integrated into mainline Ubuntu 13.10 otherwise these OpenGL performance results would be lower.
