AMD Radeon Gallium3D Starting To Out-Run Catalyst In Some Cases

The Prey (id Tech 4) game is slowly but surely improving on the open-source driver stack.

Ubuntu 13.04 on the open-source Radeon driver is now faster than the Catalyst driver as bundled in Ubuntu 10.04.4 LTS for the Radeon HD 4830 graphics card. The Ubuntu 13.04 graphics performance is a very nice improvement from the state of the Gallium3D stack just one year ago with Ubuntu 12.04 LTS.

VDrift still has some shader issues with Mesa/Gallium3D, but at least its performance is still improving.
