AMD Radeon HD 6000 Series Open-Source Driver Becomes More Competitive

The HD 6700/6800/6900 families of Radeon GPUs were all delivering very playable frame-rates for the Reaction Quake 3 game while the HD 6450/6570 couldn't cut it on the open-source driver. The Catalyst driver meanwhile for this game is multiple times faster as R600g always tends to do poorly compared to other drivers for this particular ioquake3 game.

The Unvanquished performance was also fairly good for the Radeon HD 6000 series graphics cards on Xubuntu 13.10 Linux with the updated DPM-enabled software, sans the HD 6570 issues.
