AMD's FX-8150 Bulldozer Benefits From New Compilers, Tuning

For the blur test in GraphicsMagick, over the K8 optimizations, the performance is improved by 8% with the Barcelona optimizations (namely SSE4A and ABM) and then goes up by an additional 9% with the first-generation Bulldozer instruction set additions (FMA4, AVX, XOP, LWP, AES, PCL_MUL, SSE4.2).

With the resizing operation, the Barcelona and bdver1 optimizations are also where the performance improvements are introduced.

The Barcelona instruction set additions improved the image sharpening speed by 35% and an additional 15% with the bdver1 additions.
