Previewing The Radeon DPM Performance On Linux 3.11
Having the Radeon Dynamic Power Management support of the Linux 3.11 kernel immediately pushes the A10-6800K graphics performance 2.6x higher for Doom 3 as the Radeon HD 8670D graphics core is now able to dynamically re-clock to its higher power state.
The Nexuiz performance is almost three times higher as well by moving to the experimental Linux 3.11 kernel and passing the radeon.dpm=1 kernel module parameter.
While there's some new debugfs/sysfs data for the power management levels, it's unfortunately not straightforward for simply reading the current core/memory frequencies.
