It has been a while since last running any tests of PathScale's EKOPath compiler, but in this preview article are some AMD FX-8150 "Bulldozer" benchmarks of the EKOPath compiler compared to GCC 4.7.0, LLVM/Clang 3.1 SVN, and AMD Open64 4.5.1.

Benchmarking of the EKOPath compiler was done from version 4.0.12.1 using the latest nightly build available from the PathScale product page. The latest "nightly" build on the product page reflected an actual date of 2011-12-04.

AMD Bulldozer - PathScale EKOPath 4.0.12.1

GCC 4.7.0, LLVM/Clang 3.1 SVN, AMD Open64 4.5.1, and PathScale 4.0.12.1 2011-12-04 were used to build a small set of the C/C++ benchmarks within the Phoronix Test Suite when the CFLAGS/CXXFLAGS environment variables were set to "-O3 -march=k8" and then a second run with "-O3 -march=bdver1" to test general AMD K8 compiler optimizations for the four compilers and then when applying all of the first-generation AMD Bulldozer optimizations/capabilities (such as AVX and FMA4). Ubuntu 12.04 x86_64 was the Linux distribution in use from this AMD FX-8150 setup.

All benchmarking was done via the Phoronix Test Suite.
