AMD Brings Back Semprons & Athlons With The 2014 AM1 Platform

Overall, AMD's AM1 platform is very interesting. The AM1 APUs with Jaguar CPU cores should be quite powerful among other low-end SoC/CPUs, the GCN graphics should provide some nice performance capabilities, and the price with low power envelope should make these socketed APUs extremely appealing for low-end desktops, HTPC systems, and other applications.

Stay tuned for our first Athlon 5350 Linux benchmarks that will be published on Phoronix in the next few minutes. Other AMD AM1 Linux tests will come in the days ahead.
