AMD A10-5800K Performance On Ubuntu Linux
Continuing on from last week's initial benchmarks of the AMD A10-5800K Trinity APU on Linux, the Trinity memory performance testing, and then more benchmarks of the Radeon HD 7660D integrated graphics, here is the large Ubuntu Linux comparison of the AMD A10-5800K compared to the previous-generation AMD A8 Llano APU, an AMD FX-Series Bulldozer, and several Intel Core i3/i5/i7 CPUs from the Sandy Bridge and Ivy Bridge families.
Under Ubuntu 12.10 with the Linux 3.5 kernel, the following Intel processors were compared to judge the A10 Trinity performance: Core i3 2100, Core i3 2120, Core i5 2400S, Core i5 2500K, Core i5 3470, and Core i7 3770K. The Intel i5-3470 and i7-3770K were the Ivy Bridge processors while the other CPUs are previous-generation Sandy Bridge parts.
The AMD parts for this comparison were an A8-3870K Llano APU and then an AMD FX-8150 Bulldozer. The Intel and AMD CPUs that were benchmarked under Linux were limited to the interesting APU/CPUs that were on hand at Phoronix.
