First up is a look at the web browser performance for both of these Zen 4 processors under Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome.

Web browser performance in Firefox and Chrome on Linux has been an area where Intel has generally led with their latest CPUs for some time. Now with Zen 4, AMD has captured the crown for now -- we'll see if things change for Raptor Lake.

Both the 7900X and 7950X were leading when it came to the web browser performance over the tested Intel Alder Lake and Rocket Lake CPUs as well as earlier Zen 3 / Zen 2 comparison CPUs.

The tested Zen 4 processors also led in the demanding Jetstream 2.0 browser benchmark. But when it came to the power efficiency, the 7900X / 7950X were only slightly better than the Ryzen 9 5900 series. Though for these browser benchmarks it will be arguably more interesting when looking at the lower-end/mid-range Zen 4 processors.

For WebAssembly benchmarks within Google Chrome and Firefox, the Ryzen 9 7900 series continued performing very well though in some of the WASM tests Alder Lake was still coming on strong.

Overall though for both Firefox and Chrome, the performance with these Zen 4 processors is coming in significantly better than Zen 3 and in most cases outperforming Intel 12th Gen Core CPU performance.
