First up are some benchmarks using PlaidML, an OpenCL-accelerated deep learning framework / portable tensor compiler backed by Intel.

Benchmark Result

With the Mobilenet model for PlaidML not only does the RX 6800 XT beat out the RTX 3080 but even the RX 6800... Even better than what we saw on the gaming side! The RX 6800 was well ahead of the RTX 2080 Ti where it was normally competing.

Benchmark Result

On a performance-per-dollar basis, obviously these RDNA2 graphics cards outperform the NVIDIA competition.

Benchmark Result

ResNet50 with PlaidML was still quite a win for Big Navi with the RX 6800 tieing the RTX 3080. The RX 6800 XT was well ahead of the RTX 3080 but unfortunately we have no RTX 3090 for comparison right now.

Benchmark Result

On a performance-per-dollar basis, it's still a clear win for Big Navi.

With other PlaidML models, the outcome was similar with very strong OpenCL performance out of both the RX 6800 and RX 6800 XT.
