The Catalyst Linux driver with the Radeon R9 Fury was very sad when it came to the OpenGL results with in the range of tests only performing around a GeForce GTX 960~970... Only in Unigine Valley were the results competitive with NVIDIA on Linux. However, OpenCL is a bit of a different story.

OpenCL is where AMD Catalyst does the best on Linux. The compute performance here for the R9 Fury is great and stomps on the GeForce GTX 980 Ti and TITAN X in LuxMark.

For those just needing an OpenCL accelerator, the Radeon R9 Fury series would work great on Linux.

It's just too bad that AMD's Catalyst Linux OpenGL driver isn't as good as their OpenCL support...
