Across dozens of benchmarks, here is the geometric mean for all the raw benchmark figures conducted from this Ryzen 5 5500U laptop. The amd-pstate driver with the performance governor was ever so slightly faster than acpi-cpufreq, but when it came to the ondemand and schedutil governors that are often the default on Linux distributions, amd-pstate was still leading to slightly lower raw performance than acpi-cpufreq.

When looking at the CPU power consumption across the entire span of benchmarks conducted, the Ryzen 5 5500U was saving about 0.4 Watts on average with amd-pstate during the ondemand/schedutil governor runs.

The amd-pstate driver did lead to a lower SoC temperature in this Lenovo IdeaPad laptop by about one degree Celsius across the different governors benchmarked.
