AMD EPYC 7502 + EPYC 7742 Linux Performance Benchmarks
With the Linux 7-Zip benchmark, the EPYC 7502 2P came out as 99% faster than the EPYC 7601 2P while the EPYC 7742 2P was 2.7x the speed of that previous top-end EPYC processor.
The new EPYC processors easily do well in the thread-friendly chess benchmarks.
Having up to 64 cores / 128 threads in a single socket along with DDR4-3200 memory spell great prospects for AMD EPYC 7002 processors in compilation/build farms. Using a Linux x86_64 kernel default configuration build yielded a time of just 16 seconds on the EPYC 7742 2P!
