The chess performance on the EPYC 7002 line-up is quite strong.

The EPYC 7742 2P server building the mainline Linux kernel in just 16 seconds continues being one of our favorite metrics for Rome. The EPYC 7302 meanwhile took 41 seconds and the EPYC 7402 came in at 32 seconds, just a second behind the more expensive Xeon Platinum 8280 and Xeon Gold 6138 2P configurations.

Any of the EPYC 7002 processors with their competitive pricing and higher core counts than comparable Xeon Scalable parts continue to show much opportunity for use in build farms.
