First up are some of the open-source scientific workload tests across the two Intel Haswell CPUs and two AMD Kaveri APUs.

The A10-7870K is slightly faster than the A10-7850K and roughly in line with expectations for a 200MHz bump in CPU frequency and 100MHz bump in the turbo frequency. With Parboil, Rodinia, and Hmmer, the Kaveri APUs were competing with the Intel Core i3 4130 sans the big MRI-Q exception. The i3-4130 is dual-core with Hyper Threading and has a 3.5GHz clock frequency while it retails for around $120. The Core i5 4670 with its four cores at 3.4GHz was slamming the Kaveri APUs, but this Haswell CPU retails for $225 USD.

In some benchmarks though, the A10-7870K can't even compete with the Core i3 4130 performance.
