While with the LavaMD OpenMP benchmark, the c5.18xlarge instance type came in ahead of the fastest bare metal system tested, the dual Xeon Gold 6138 system. The c5.18xlarge instance type has 36 cores / 72 threads exposed from an Intel Platinum 8124M processor. But getting this much performance in the cloud at on-demand rates is at over $3 USD per hour.
