For Tagan, the packaging, unfortunately, did not include a leather case this time. There were two boxes in the package. One for the hefty 14AWG power cable and some mounting accessories, and one for the power supply and all of its modular cables. A vibration dampener was also included for mounting, and cable ties were packed with the unit for easy cable management. The power supply was well protected by a layer of bubble wrap. The unit comes with a 3-year parts and labor warranty. For the 1200W ToughPower, the packaging is typical of Thermaltake. The graphics are nicely done and the unit is very well protected. It is encased in a thick protective foam as well as wrapped in bubble wrap. A 16AWG power cable was included along with standard mounting hardware. Like the Tagan unit, a vibration dampener was included.

Examination

First up is the Tagan ITZ 1300W, which is one of the flashiest (literally) non-LED power supplies we have reviewed here at Phoronix. Tagan calls the paint job a "Titanium coating mirror case." We have no idea why every marketing team throws "titanium" into everything, but I definitely have to agree with the "mirror" part. The reflection is simply flawless. The second thing you notice on this unit is the huge ABS logos printed everywhere on the box and on the power supply. It was done tastefully though and all of the detailing is very high quality. They even bothered to make etchings into the power supply casing to add to this unit's uniqueness.

The cables are also very well done. There are four PCI-E cables which are sleeved in plastic and have a ferrite core to reduce high frequency interference. The rest of the cables are sleeved in mesh. The cables are long enough even if your case has its power supply mount at the bottom of the chassis below the motherboard, like the Antec P180 or SilverStone TJ09 / TJ10. Among the cables were the main ATX 20 pin, P4 12V, P8 12V, six 4-pin molex, two PCI-E 6-pin, two PCI-E 6pin, one VGA 4-pin, twelve Serial ATA, and two floppy connectors.
