Back during Computex Taipei 2007, David Lin had found the Kublai series among the many cases at SilverStone's booth. At that time the Kublai series wasn't officially announced so at first it wasn't know if David just had too much to drink at the previous night's party (like in the past at Computex Taipei) or whether the Kublai was actually a great find. Well, since then the Kublai series was officially announced as a cheaper alternative to the Temjin series while providing adequate cooling and quietness that computer enthusiasts have come to expect from SilverStone. At hand today we have the SilverStone Kublai KL02, which is one of the two cases currently making up this new ATX tower series.

Features:

· Mid-size tower chassis for all around integration
· Temjin quality aluminum finish and construction with removable drive bays
· Dual 120mm fans included for excellent cooling
· Perforated expansion slot cover for graphics card cooling
· Highly flexible drive storage options with hot-swappable SATA adapter
· High airflow design (via side venting holes)
· Includes SilverStone CP05 adapter to make any 3.5" SATA hard drive hot swappable

The SilverStone Kublai KL02 had arrived in packaging similar to SilverStone's other cases and everything had arrived in perfect condition. Styrofoam had ensured that the case itself wasn't damaged during shipping and on the case's side panel window was a protective film on both sides. The two models for the Kublai KL02 are the SST-KL02B and SST-KL02B-W with the latter one offering a side panel window. We are using the SilverStone SST-KL02B-W for review. An alternative to the Kublai KL02 is the KL01, which according to SilverStone, is designed to be a "powerful mid-tower chassis with legendary lineage." Meanwhile, SilverStone's tag line for the KL02 is a "potent mid tower chassis with legendary lineage."
