14-Way Intel/AMD Benchmarks On Ubuntu 17.04 + Linux 4.10

In preparation for Ryzen tests coming up in the near future, I've been running some fresh benchmarks across a range of Intel and AMD x86_64 Linux systems. For those curious about the current performance of Ubuntu 17.04 daily with the Linux 4.10 kernel, here are benchmarks from 14 of the systems.

For your viewing pleasure today are results from 14 different processors, all of which were running Ubuntu 17.04 20170226 with the Linux 4.10 kernel and GCC 6.3.

Intel AMD x86_64 CPU Linux Tests - Ubuntu 17.04 - Tuesday

The software stack remained the same. All of the processors were tested at their stock speeds. The graphics cards varied, due to not being able to easily swap them in the racks, but for this testing all of the tests were CPU-focused and thus the GPUs didn't play a role in the testing. There will be AMD Ryzen tests with different graphics cards across different systems, but for today's article anyhow is just putting out these results for 14 different systems for reference purposes and out of curiosity sake. The Ryzen tests will also include more processors than just the 14 featured in this comparison, it was simply due to the hardware I had tested so far this week with the new Ubuntu 17.04 snapshot.

All of these Intel/AMD Linux CPU benchmarks were carried out in a fully-automated and reproducible manner using the open-source Phoronix Test Suite benchmarking software. Enjoy!
