libXvMC Updated, Drops Pre-C89 Support
Alan Coopersmith announced the release of libXvMC 1.0.9 this Saturday and it has just a few fixes in this rare update. One of the changes is moving to slightly more "modern" compiler requirements -- a.k.a. dropping pre-C89 support. XvMC had been using pre-C89 token pasting support but now the libXvMC support has been updated to require an ANSI C89 level pre-processor.
As the Oracle employee wrote in the mailing list announcement, "This release now requires libX11 1.6 or later, and a C compiler less than 25 years old."
