Wine 1.9 Release Brings WSAPoll, Better X11 D&D

With Wine 1.8 having been released last week, Wine 1.9.0 was released today as the first development snapshot leading to the Wine 1.10 release in 2016.

Wine 1.9.0 brings many fixes that came in during Wine 1.8's code freeze. There is also a WSAPoll implementation, standard font dialog fixes, X11 drag and drop fixes, and a total of 43 other bug fixes.

WSAPoll is a new Winsock API that simplifies porting poll() applications to Windows. Details on WSAPoll, which has been around since circa 2006, can be found via this blog post.

More Wine 1.9.0 details can be found via WineHQ.org. With Wine switching to yearly, time-based releases, the Wine 1.9 series will culminate with the stable Wine 1.10 release in late 2016.
