Warsow 2.1 Recently Released With Offloaded Rendering

Warsow 2.1 was released back on 28 March as an Easter present for open-source gamers. One of the big changes is that the game's renderer is now offloaded to a separate thread. However, it does still support running in a single-threaded mode if so desired.
Besides offloading the rendering work to a separate thread, Warsow 2.1 now sandboxes third-party maps and textures, the Linux build now follows the XDG directory specification, improved support for Quake 3 / Quake Live maps, there are now four background loader threads by default, various gameplay changes, modding enhancements, and much more.
Those wishing to learn more about the few-week-old Warsow 2.1 release can visit the Warsow.gg forums for a complete change-log. I'll be working on getting my Warsow test profile updated for some fresh benchmarks.
