Ubuntu Developer Gets Mir Running On Fedora

The changes to get Mir running on at least Fedora should be merged for the upcoming Mir 0.28.1 point release. Mir 0.28.1 will also incorporate other bug fixes.
Alan mentioned this challenge of getting Mir running on Fedora via community.ubuntu.com.
For those wondering the use-case of getting Mir on other Linux distributions, this is likely due to Canonical's hope that it will get picked up as a Wayland compositor by the smaller desktop environments. MATE has been among those hoping to use Mir as a means of a lower barrier to entry for offering Wayland support. Likewise, Unity 8 forks like Yunit have also expressed interest in Mir now that there is the Wayland client support. It will be interesting to see what comes of this support in the future.
