Steam Linux Usage Went Up A Tiny Amount In September, Still Less Than 1%
While more games continue to be ported over to Linux and offered on Steam, the overall Linux gaming market-share remains under 1%.
There was a lot of interesting Linux news in September but the Steam Linux market-share wasn't one of them. Valve is reporting the Linux use is up by just 0.02%, which brings the overall reported Steam Linux value at 0.94%. Ubuntu 14.04.3, Ubuntu 15.04, and Linux Mint 17.2 moved a tiny bit forward for boosting the September stats.
The September 2015 Steam survey stats can be found via SteamPowered.com. Hopefully the Linux numbers will improve in the months ahead with the availability of Steam Machines with SteamOS, etc.
