Jonathan Riddell Steps Down From The Kubuntu Council

The Ubuntu drama last month of the Ubuntu Community Council ordering Jonathan Riddell out of any (K)Ubuntu leadership positions has apparently come to a close. The former Canonical employee who was widely looked at as a leader of Kubuntu has removed his membership from the Kubuntu Council.

Following last month's drama with the UCC not liking Riddell's behavior, they re-affirmed their decision in a post that's now been taken down at the request of the Kubuntu Community Council. This drama also led Scott Kitterman to step down from his Ubuntu Developer Membership Board position.

Announced today, "The Kubuntu Council is pleased to see that process improvements have been made that will make issues like this easier to solve in the future should they recur and looks forward to a great Wily (15.10) release. The Community Council is likewise pleased be working with the Kubuntu Council to ensure that a KDE flavor of Ubuntu continues to be well supported by the community and Canonical."
