Open-Source Radeon Vulkan Driver Now Can Run Dota 2 With Correct Rendering
David Airlie and Bas Nieuwenhuizen continue making good progress on the open-source, community-driven RADV Vulkan driver for providing Radeon Vulkan support for newer GCN GPUs in the absence of AMD making available their Linux Vulkan driver as open-source.
RADV was only announced last month and already they have hit the milestone of being able to run Valve's Dota 2 game with its Vulkan renderer while managing to render everything correctly.
Airlie tracked down the last rendering bug for Dota 2 today but he notes that some other problems might be lingering, including Dota 2 via PTS. Besides Dota 2, most of the Vulkan demos made by Sascha Willems are able to pass along with Vulkan conformance tests. When it comes to The Talos Principle, there are still rendering problems to fix.

Looks like I'll be trying some Dota 2 RADV testing this weekend to see how it goes. Only with Volcanic Islands GPUs (e.g. Tonga and Fiji) is this code known to be in good shape right now.
