Pyston 0.4 Released With Even Better Performance

The Dropbox developers working on Pyston today announced the latest version of their high-performance Python JIT implementation.

Pyston 0.4 is reportedly 25% faster than CPython for Dropbox's benchmark suite. Besides offering more performance improvements, there is also greater Python language compatibility, Unicode support, improved C API support, and more. While Pyston is running ahead of CPython, the developers acknowledge they're about 25% slower than PyPy.
