Phoronix Turns 11 Years Old Next Week: How Should We Celebrate?
Phoronix.com is turning eleven years old next week! Help plan some exciting content for the Phoronix birthday. Last year was a 60+ graphics card comparison under Linux with open-source drivers, but how can this year be even better?
Last year when Phoronix turned ten years old there was a 60+ graphics card open-source driver comparison, a 30-way comparison with the binary blobs, and a number of other high profile articles. For this year I'm thinking what other exciting benchmarks to do for commemorating the Phoronix birthday.
I will likely again do a large open-source/closed-source Linux graphics card comparison but not as large as last year. In the coming days some other tests already in the works include Radeon Fedora 22 tests, Broadwell Fedora 22 tests, various PTS / Phoromatic articles, Intel Compute Stick Linux testing, some MIPS Creator Linux benchmarking, a review of the new CompuLab AMD device, and some other random Linux hardware reviews and benchmarks. What else would you ideally like to see? There will also be more coming from the daily tests being done at LinuxBenchmarking.com.
Outside of content, the new Phoronix.com desktop/mobile site layout remains in the works. Phoronix Test Suite 5.8 is also wrapping up development for release soon.
Let me know in the forums what you'd like to see for the 11th birthday of Phoronix or for other content to come later in the year. Of course, if you appreciate all the work I invest in this site in routine 100+ hour work weeks over the past eleven years to keep things going, please consider subscribing to Phoronix Premium or making a PayPal tip -- without these forms of support plus readers viewing the web-site with ads, there's no way for all of this Linux hardware testing to continue, especially with the interesting tests that are often consume the most time.
You can also follow Phoronix via Facebook, Twitter, and Google+. Thanks for your support and stay around for some exciting articles in the days ahead!
