First Release Of PC-BSD 11.0-CURRENT Images
The PC-BSD camp has started spinning development images of FreeBSD/PC-BSD 11.0 in the present 11.0-CURRENT state that is still far out from being officially released.
For testing the bleeding-edge features for FreeBSD 11.0 that are being incorporated into PC-BSD 11.0 along with PC-BSD's own innovations, the crew has started producing the 11.0-CURRENT ISO images to facilitate easier wide-spread testing of the popular desktop-focused BSD distribution.
Those wishing to learn more about these new images can find out more details via the PC-BSD.org blog.
FreeBSD 11.0 is set to add the casperd daemon, there's many package version updates, bsdinstall and the sade utility have been updated with native ZFS support, there's updated device drivers, the i915 DRM driver will now support Mesa 9.2 and newer, etc. Details on the current FreeBSD 11.0 changes can be found via the in-progress 11.0-CURRENT release notes.
