Deadlines Are Fast Approaching For Outreachy & GSoC To Get Involved With Free Software
Student applications for GSoC 2016 are running from 14 to 25 March. There are a lot of great participating 2016 organizations from Wayland, GNOME, LLVM, Debian, Fedora, FreeBSD, GitHub, GNU, Inkscape, Mozilla, and many others. Meanwhile, the Outreachy deadline is also coming to a close quite quickly. The Outreachy Summer 2016 internships are open to "internationally to women (cis and trans), trans men, and genderqueer people. Additionally, they are open to residents and nationals of the United States of any gender who are Black/African American, Hispanic/[email protected], American Indian, Alaska Native, Native Hawaiian, or Pacific Islander."
Applying to their summer program ends on 22 March. The stipends paid to those who qualify are still at $5500 USD. Among the participating organizations this round are Debian, GNOME, GIt, the Linux kernel, Xen, WordPress, VideoLAN, QEMU, Homebrew, and more.
