Phoronix Oslo Summer 2011 Meet-Up Recap
This meet-up was organized with little time in advance, as it took place just one week following the Oslo terrorist attack. Thanks to those that showed up at the event, which was held at Lekter'n.
Deserving of many thanks is Phoronix reader "Del_", who decided to pick-up the entire tab of the event. Not only did he pay for all of the food and alcohol at the Lekter'n, but as well for the after-party that took place at Oslo's Beer Palace and the drinks after that at a bar on Karl Johans Gate, prior to a security snafu where I was ultimately ejected for drinking a coffee near the street...
It was a very good evening overall. As said by the Norwegian, "Thanks for a fantastic evening. I haven't had a hangover this bad in years."
As anyone who has been to Norway knows, alcohol prices are particularly nasty here and among the worst in the world. As such, due to Del_'s generosity, he has earned himself a life-time subscription to Phoronix Premium. Skål!
