Intel Linux DRM HDMI / DisplayPort Audio

While the open-source Radeon DRM/KMS (along with the closed-source Catalyst) drivers have had support for audio over HDMI / DisplayPort, patches are finally moving along by Intel's Zhenyu Wang for bringing up audio on Intel chipsets over these newest display interfaces.

While Keith Packard and Ian Romanick are now in Amsterdam on their way back to Portland (we were on the same early-morning flight that just landed), Zhenyu submitted a set of four updated patches for Intel KMS audio to the DRI development mailing list. These patches that enable audio when using HDMI / DisplayPort on supported monitors are to be applied against the drm-intel-next branch and will likely be candidates for merging into the Linux 2.6.37 kernel.
