Mandriva 2009.1 Alpha 2 Released
For those looking to play with a development snapshot of Mandriva, 2009.1 Alpha 2 has hit the Internet. Mandriva 2009.1 Alpha 2 is shipping with the latest KDE 4.2 and GNOME 2.25 bits (as well as the latest beta for Xfce 4.6), the Linux 2.6.28 kernel, and the latest code for X Server 1.6.
Additionally, this latest release that will go on to form Mandriva 2009.1 has support for installing to an EXT4 file-system, their msec security tool is being rewritten (along with a GUI for it), Diskdrake has received a few improvements, and they have switched to using LXDE instead of IceWM for their lightweight window management needs.
