While Unreal Tournament 3 will ship on November 19 for Windows gamers, and we previously confirmed that the Linux binary will not ship on the DVD, it doesn't sound like the Linux client will be available on this date either. It took a few weeks for id Software to release the Linux client for Enemy Territory: Quake Wars and it looks like Unreal Tournament 3 will fall into a similar path. A Windows demo of Unreal Tournament 3 has been available since earlier this month, but the Linux demo has too been missing in action. Ryan Gordon, the one porting UT3 to Linux, hasn't yet provided any target date(s) for the Linux client availability. Along with some ranting, this afternoon Ryan Gordon provided a statement on the Linux mailing list that "it's being worked on, and it will ship when it's ready." His rants in this message were about Epic's support of Linux gamers and encouraging anyone complaining to instead focus their attacks at Valve software for not supporting Mac / Linux.
