NVIDIA this morning announced VR Funhouse, what they claim as the world's most advanced VR game. But unfortunately for Linux gamers, this title is only supported by Windows at launch.

With the VR scene on Linux continuing to trail Windows when it comes to VR device and game support, it's really not a surprise the VR Funhouse launch goes without any support for Linux. Nevertheless, it's an interesting piece of tech to talk about. VR Funhouse is also powered by Unreal Engine 4, so a Linux port can't be entirely ruled out for the future. In fact... NVIDIA will be open-sourcing the game!

NVIDIA will be making VR Funhouse open-source "later this summer" so that developers can learn more about the techniques used in the game along with its implementation of using the NVIDIA GameWorks SDK. With being UE4-powered, once open-sourced hopefully we'll see it ported to Linux.

You can learn more about VR Funhouse from the NVIDIA blog. VR Funhouse is available via Steam. Be forewarned though that the game is designed around using the latest NVIDIA tech, the GeForce GTX 1060/1070/1080 Pascal hardware.
