Ubuntu 6.06 Beta 1

Ubuntu Linux has reached yet another release today. Rather than being one of the "Flight" development builds, today marks the first Beta release for Ubuntu v6.06 Dapper Drake. A great deal of Ubuntu Dapper Drake information is available from here. This Dapper Drake Beta release does bring a new Ubuntu term to the table: LTS. The LTS flag on Ubuntu 6.06 LTS means Long Term Support. Rather than the previous six month support and release cycles, Dapper Drake will be the first release to incorporate a sixteen month support period. The final Ubuntu v6.06 release should occur on June 1, 2006.
