MuQSS Updates For The Linux 4.10 Kernel
In addition to updating the MuQSS CPU scheduler as his evolved effort from the BFS scheduler, he's also announced the Linux-4.10-ck1 patches.
Kolivas wrote on the kernel mailing list, "These are patches designed to improve system responsiveness and interactivity with specific emphasis on the desktop, but configurable for any workload. The patchset is mainly centred around the Multiple Queue Skiplist Scheduler, MuQSS." With MuQSS v0.152 are just relatively minor changes over v0.150.
Aside from updating the MuQSS CPU scheduler, his other changes to the kernel include making BFQ the default I/O scheduler, make writeback throttling by default enabled, using a default 100Hz timer, make the preemptible kernel model the default, and other modifications as outlined via his Git repository.
