More DRM Code Gets Aligned For Linux 4.8 Via DRM-Next

Complementing the significant amount of Intel DRM driver code already vetted and queued up for the Linux 4.8 cycle via DRM-Next, more code was pulled in last night for the various Direct Rendering Manager drivers in preparation for this next kernel cycle later in the summer.

Aside from the Intel driver work, there was a relatively big OMAP DRM update considering TI OMAP isn't heard from much these days... OMAP updates include gamma table support, PLL refactoring, and other code changes -- over one thousand lines of new code.

There were also VirtIO-GPU updates with various fixes and code changes.

Another serving of more recent Intel code.

Lastly were other changes.

There's still more than one month to go until the Linux 4.8 kernel cycle will begin, but it will be interesting to see what else it brought into DRM-Next. On the Radeon/AMDGPU side should be the OverDrive support along with experimental GCN 1.0 AMDGPU support (disabled by default) but it remains to be seen if the DAL display layer code will be ready to merge this next cycle. It will also be interesting to see what else AMD has ready for their AMDGPU driver. On the Nouveau side, hopefully they will have the "boost" patches land for Kepler to yield better performance and ideally other performance-related work but 4.8 will probably be too early for seeing any Pascal code.
