Release manager Emil Velikov is planning to issue the feature freeze and first release candidate next Friday, 20 October. That will mark the deadline for getting major features/improvements into Mesa 17.3, after which point it will be reserved for bug fixes.
Weekly release candidates of Mesa 17.3 will then continue until 17.3.0 is ready for release, which Velikov is hoping to be around 10 November. But as we've seen from past Mesa releases, they are prone to slipping though will likely be ready for release in November.
Emil sent out the reminder of the 17.3 release schedule on Mesa-dev. A Mesa 17.3 feature overview and continued benchmarks of these OpenGL/Vulkan drivers will be coming over the days and weeks ahead.
