Matrox DRM/KMS Driver Gets New Hardware Support In Linux 4.3
It's not often that there's improvements in the Matrox "mgag200" DRM/KMS driver to talk about, but there is this morning.
David Airlie has landed some Matrox DRM driver improvements courtesy of the company itself. The work is in DRM-Next for eventual merging into Linux 4.3.
The prominent additions to the open-source Matrox driver include support for the G200eW3 chipset and support for a new revision of the G200e.
Of course, this driver is only focused on providing kernel mode-setting for the Matrox graphics hardware and there isn't any adjoining Mesa/Gallium3D driver with a fully open stack for users of these workstation graphics processors.
