SDDM Is The Recommended Display Manager Of KDE Plasma 5

While LightDM remains a popular display manager choice, KDE developers decided for Plasma 5 that the recommended choice is using SDDM.
SDDM has a relatively short history but is a lightweight, QML-based display manager. The first SDDM release was just in March of 2013. Besides interest from KDE developers, SDDM is also supported by the Hawaii/Maui desktop project.
The new display manager interface for SDDM is shipped as part of the new plasma-workspace. There's also a configuration module for SystemSettings that will be part of the KDE Plasma 5.2 release. While SDDM is the recommended manager, Plasma will remain compatible with other display managers.
