As a quick update to a Phoronix story from earlier this week, the HyperZ performance boosting feature has been re-enabled in Mesa Git for RadeonSI and R600g!

Yesterday I wrote about a patch for re-enabling HyperZ in the AMD Gallium3D drivers now that it looked like the R600g and RadeonSI issues were a matter of the past. HyperZ is an important feature for boosting the performance of GPUs in demanding OpenGL workloads but was previously disabled by default due to stability/rendering bugs.

Now it's enabled again for the Mesa 10.4 release that's due out in December... Assuming no issues come up before then that causes it to be disabled by default.
