Linux 3.18-rc6 Released, A Worrisome Regression Remains
Linus Torvalds put out his usual weekly release candidate to the Linux 3.18 kernel.
Linux 3.18-rc6 contains mostly small regression/bug fixes with now getting late into the Linux 3.18 cycle. Linus notes in the 3.18-rc6 announcement that steady progress is being made for the official release.
There is though "a big unknown worry in a regression" that's still being tracked down. There's an issue with Linux 3.18 reported by Dave Jones resulting in frequent lockups. Bisecting is still ongoing for tracking down this mysterious regression.
Overall Linux 3.18 is still shaping up well and offers a number of new features.
