The Beta To The Final Minor Release Of RHEL5 Is Out
While Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.0 is out in force, RHEL5 keeps ticking along and is still in widespread use and warranting Red Hat's continued investment. On Wednesday the final planned minor release of RHEL5 was made available in beta form, RHEL 5.11.
The Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.11 Beta release offers new/updated storage drivers, enhancements to Red Hat Access Support debugging capabilities, improvements for RHEL Linux guests on VMware ESXi, and improvements to Red Hat's subscription management services.
While RHEL 5.11 is the last planned release, Red Hat will continue supporting RHEL5 through March of 2017 when it will have been ten years that the enterprise OS has been supported.
