Red Hat's Christian Schaller has provided an update concerning the Wayland display server state with the upcoming Fedora 21 Workstation release.

Fedora developers continue making great progress on making a Wayland session available via the GDM with XWayland support. However, for Fedora 21 the XWayland support with 3D acceleration isn't yet ready and will not come until Fedora 22. The Fedora 21 Wayland support should work with the open-source Intel, AMD, and NVIDIA graphics drivers.

More details on the Wayland support level for Fedora 21 can be found via Christian's blog. Fedora 21 will be released in October with many new features.
