Ext2Fsd: EXT3/EXT4 Support Now Works On Windows 8

The Ext2Fsd project that provides an EXT3/EXT4 file-system driver for Microsoft Windows operating systems was recently updated with Windows 8 support and other changes.

A Phoronix reader pointed out in the forums that Ext2Fsd 0.52 was released last month. This recent update was the first release since 2011 and thus brought a fair amount of changes.

Ext2Fsd 0.52 brings Windows 8 support, force-writing support, numerous bug-fixes, and supports many of the EXT3/4 file-system features under Windows. Features still missing from this open-source EXT file-system driver for Windows includes journalling support, extents support, perforance improvements, LVM support, and other functionality.
