Bacon2D: A New Game Engine Pushing Game Development On Ubuntu
Bacon2D is a game engine using QML that's powered by the Box2D simulation engine. It's really designed to be a straightforward and versatile game engine written around QML for making simple 2D games. This open-source game engine currently handles the graphics rendering, physics/collision detection, sound, artificial intelligence, scripting, and networking support. Going forward on the Bacon2D menu is support for loading scenes from tiled maps, loading/saving of game levels, steering behavior support, and a Bacon2D editor.
The Bacon2D project was shared by Kevin VanDine on Thursday during the online Ubuntu Developer Summit about Game Development on Ubuntu Touch.
