An optimized version of the XBMC media center software is under development for Valve's SteamOS living room gaming Linux distribution.

A SteamOS XBMC repository is now available for beta testing that is designed to work with Valve's current Debian-based SteamOS "Alchemist" distribution. Having XBMC for SteamOS has long been sought after for a superior video playback experience beyond what's offered by Steam in Big Picture Mode.

Those wishing to beta test the just-announced SteamOS XBMC repository can find more information from the XBMC Forums.
