Next Week Is An Ubuntu Summit: Unity 8 & Mir News
Taking place next week from 10 to 12 June is the next Ubuntu Developer Summit where plans about Ubuntu 14.10 with regard to Mir, Unity 8, Ubuntu Phone, and other topics will be discussed by developers.
As is usual now, this Ubuntu Developer Summit is purely a virtual event compared to the well-organized, large physical UDS events that took place years ago around the world. The Internet meetings happening next week for the Ubuntu Online Summit 14.06 is focused on app development, Cloud DevOps, community, Ubuntu development, and users.
Some of the meetings that caught our attention that we will be monitoring next week for coverage on Phoronix include:
- Game development on Ubuntu Touch
- Ubuntu Server plans around systemd.
- Goals for the "Ubuntu Women Project" for the Ubuntu 14.10 cycle.
- KDE Frameworks for all Qt users.
- Unity 8 and Mir road-map.
- Convergence progress report.
